Finished Look M8311 Dress Pattern

Vibrant Greetings!

Here to get the Shetails (my spin on “details”) of me making McCall’s M8311 dress pattern? Well, I’m glad you came to visit!

I made view B using the smallest pattern size but with a few adjustments. I felt the smallest size was too loose for me, so I took in the side seams of both the bodice and skirt. If I were to make this pattern again, I would only take in the side seams of the skirt. I heard the sounds of a few threads snapping as I squeezed my way into the top bodice. The top bodice actually cinches up nicely once the elastic is inserted. Also, I opted to use my coverstitch machine to do all the hems around the dress because I’m not a fan of narrow hems on knit fabrics. Lastly, I added about 6.5 inches in length to the skirt.

I absolutely love the ring attachment. It really brings out the dress, and the wrap-around shoulder sleeve is a yes honey for me! Overall, the instructions were easy to follow, and I would love to make this dress again.
